Haven't you ruffled any feathers in the past few days?..........FUNNY- Actually It turns out I don't have to do anything, The feathers get ruffled all on their own, Thats what happens when folks put things other than the "dance" first and spend too much time not dancing, just chatting-all nite long.
Now who am I talking about?.... A syndrome I see in all areas, 3 different areas just in the last 4 days-so it's not a personal attack on you-chill out!!

I've seen it coming for a long time! Part of it I think is from Clubs trying to one up each other! We offer this, and then a come back of we offer something better! A Better Caller, more moves. We don't allow weak dancers in so if you want a strong dance come dance with us! The movements become the dance instead of the music and making new friends and sharing different ideas! It becomes a Bodies Game instead of a Reason to get together! If you can't out do them then talk bad about them and hope people believe the junk you spread!
ReplyDeleteI'll never forget starting a Club and the existing Clubs didn't like it, and refused to support it! So I'm at the Callers Association dance, and done my tip, and am dancing with some people I don't know and they are telling me how much they enjoyed my Calling! So I thought I'd throw in a plug for my club. When I mentioned the name this lady leans close and Says, "Never Go There! Their Caller is Terrible!" I couldn't get my jaw back up off the floor to tell them that "I was that Terrible Caller!"

It's time to pull a Rabbit out of a Hat! Anytime people would rather talk than dance it's Rabbit Time. Problem is that the way callers call today they have no bag of tricks. In fact the dancers are required to know the mechanics of the moves as well or better than the caller! That's why we need so many movements! It's like going to a Comedian who hands you out a "Punch Line" Sheet!
ReplyDeleteIf they don't want to come out, dance without them and if the Rabbit makes them laugh you soon get soon get the attention of those who are left out!
If every dance you do is the greatest thing since Sliced Bread, big deal if you miss a bunch! If everyone is talking about the one you missed the whole idea of not being there takes on a whole new MEANING! Unless it's a really good trick or gimmick you can't use it twice so you need to keep working at it. A little goes a long ways!
