Square dancing is seeing an upward trend

Well
GOOD NEWS
The Do-cee-Drama in some areas, which is working out just fine, has also created a "bump" in progress in the other 5 areas I call in
YAY Square Dancers win- Classes are up (especially in the OC) and , as I mentioned to another "reluctant to upset the politicos caller" tonite (on the phone) We have more folks to Square dance, none are running for any SD office
All's good tonite- I saw my grandkid who can (almost) sit up now- 5 1/2 months old

  2. There are lots of people our there who would love to Square Dance! So why don't they? They haven't been asked by the right person! Every person who square dances should have a "One Night Stand" at the Church or Organization. I know they want it called "Square Dance Party" But, for the majority it's a "One Night Stand" as they don't like the music, but, mostly the don't like having to dance with everyone!
The dancers, and Caller can't give up the Climbing up the ladder! The number of moves you know has nothing to do with how much fun you have at a Square Dance. You don't have to be a caller to do a "One Night Stand", but you need to be good at giving people directions. How to teach easy lines, and conduct a Virginia Reel. How to make people laugh while you are explaining how to do a Dosasdo or Allemande Left. If you can sing that's a Plus! Any square dance song can be turned into a simple Singing Call. It's going to take a bunch of people willing to learn how to do, "Square Dance Partys" And, do it for the fun of it and grow Square Dancing, not to make "MONEY"!
